Travel Insurance

A travel policy is not just a piece of paper for the embassy. The number that matters is the emergency medical limit, followed by the cancellation and baggage terms.

Who this cover is for

We issue travel policies for individuals, families and frequently travelling company staff.

  • Schengen visa applicants, where a minimum medical limit is required
  • Travellers going abroad for treatment, study or long work assignments
  • Families on holiday who want the children covered
  • Frequent business travellers suited to an annual multi trip policy

What the policy covers

The core covers we request in every quotation. Some are optional and carry an additional premium.

  • Emergency medical expensesTreatment and hospital admission outside Jordan up to a stated limit.
  • Evacuation and repatriationMedical transfer of the patient, or repatriation in the worst cases.
  • Trip cancellation or curtailmentReimbursement of non refundable costs for reasons listed in the policy.
  • Travel delayA cash benefit after a defined number of delay hours.
  • Lost or delayed baggageCompensation within a limit per item and per trip.
  • Personal liabilityDamage you cause to a person or to property while travelling.
  • Passport lossThe cost of obtaining a replacement while you are abroad.

What it usually does not cover

These are common exclusions in this line of business. Actual exclusions differ between insurers, and we set them out in writing with every offer.

  • Pre existing conditions known before the trip began
  • Pre planned treatment or travel undertaken for medical purposes
  • Hazardous sports such as climbing and deep diving unless specifically added
  • Incidents arising from alcohol or prohibited substances
  • Travel to countries or regions excluded in the policy
  • Claims submitted after the notification period has expired

Figures and clauses worth asking about

Before you sign, these are the clauses that decide what the policy is really worth.

Medical limitThe single most important figure. Schengen visas require a known minimum, and we make sure the offer meets it.
Geographical scopeWhether cover is Europe only or worldwide, and whether North America is excluded.
Age limitsSome schemes raise the premium or restrict benefits above a certain age, and we flag this before purchase.

Claim documents

We prepare them with you and review them before submission so the file is not delayed on a procedural point.

  • Medical report and original invoices from the treating provider
  • Passport showing entry and exit stamps
  • Boarding pass and trip booking
  • The airline report for delayed or lost baggage
  • Proof of non refundable costs in a cancellation claim

Questions we put to the insurer on your behalf

These questions are the difference between a cheap offer and a suitable one.

  • What is the emergency medical limit, and does it satisfy the embassy requirement?
  • Is cover worldwide or restricted to a particular region?
  • What are the cancellation terms and which reasons are accepted?
  • How many hours of delay must pass before the benefit is payable?
  • What is the maximum baggage compensation per item?
  • Can the policy be extended if the trip runs longer than planned?

Common questions about Travel Insurance

Will the embassy accept any travel policy?
No. Schengen visas carry known requirements for the medical limit, the geographical scope and the validity period. We issue a policy that matches them.
Is an annual policy cheaper than per trip cover?
If you travel more than three times a year, an annual multi trip policy usually works out cheaper. We run the numbers for you.
Does it cover epidemics and infectious disease?
It depends on the scheme. Some policies cover emergency treatment and others exclude it. We ask the insurer in writing and give you the answer before issuing.
If the trip ends and I never used the policy, is there a refund?
Normally not, because cover was in force throughout. Some insurers refund part of the premium if the visa was refused before travel, with official proof.
