Figures and clauses worth asking about
Before you sign, these are the clauses that decide what the policy is really worth.
Claim documents
We prepare them with you and review them before submission so the file is not delayed on a procedural point.
- A medical report setting out the nature and cause of the injury
- A police report where the accident was a traffic or criminal matter
- Death certificate and succession document in fatal cases
- The medical board decision on the disability percentage
- Notice to the insurer within the period stated in the policy
Questions we put to the insurer on your behalf
These questions are the difference between a cheap offer and a suitable one.
- Is cover on a 24 hour basis or during working hours only?
- Which partial disability scale does the policy apply?
- Does the policy include medical expenses arising from the accident?
- How long is the temporary disability benefit payable and what is its ceiling?
- How is the occupation classified, and does the class reflect the actual work?
- Does cover continue while travelling outside Jordan?
Common questions about Personal Accident Insurance
How is it different from medical insurance?
Medical insurance pays treatment invoices. Personal accident pays a cash sum for injury, disability or death regardless of invoices. They complement each other and neither replaces the other.
Does it replace workmen compensation?
No. Work injury cover is an obligation towards employees within the scope of work. Personal accident covers the employee inside and outside working hours if you choose full cover.
Is the premium expensive?
It is usually among the cheapest covers relative to the benefit, particularly for office occupations. The premium rises with occupational hazard.
Does it cover road accidents?
In most schemes yes, whether you are the driver, a passenger or a pedestrian, subject to the policy terms and exclusions.
